is it me or the top seem to be able to distache. those 2 thing on the left look like strap that hold the top part.
OK. I'm calling Hiigaran-made Nomad Moon parallel for post-HW2 era on this thing. Who's with me? XDDD
Also, really nice design in general. Very easy on the eyes, and has a real sense of toughness, like a Star Destroyer.
Homeworld awakened us to the truths that fighters leave drive trails and hangar bays are blue-lit, and though I think the concept of orange/yellow construction/gantry structures with white stripes predates Homeworld, I am only too happy to conform to that orthodoxy as well.
I must admit that I wasn't thinking specifically of Cataclysm's Nomad Moon, as much from that title was purged from my memory. What I do recall was that the hangars in Cataclysm were green rather than blue.
In the case of this art, it's actually a very nice influence.
Anyways, yeah they were green-lit in Cataclysm. I have no idea why. -_-
Well the Nomad Moons if I remember were the Taiidan Republic's idea of the Death Star... I remember Onslaught, that one "all non-playable ships from Cataclysm" total conversion mod, gave you Nomad Moons in place of the Dreadnaughts. Vast improvement I'd say... So that's where my primary memory of that is from, and why your Doomstar made me think of the Moons right off.
I think some of Cataclysm was good, some of it wasn't, and in general there's stuff I'd just pick up and leave the rest behind of it.
And yes, fighters will always leave trails, hangars will always be blue, sensor antennae will always be orange with white stripes, and there should always be a wired-in woman in charge of your fleet as Command. So say we all.
